Natasha Carlitz founded the Dance Ensemble in 2005 to bring her innovative movement to audiences throughout the Bay Area. The company performs powerful modern dance choreography based on themes ranging from abstract mathematical concepts to the physical puzzles posed by unusual spaces. Carlitz's movement style draws on a range of influences, including workshops with Pilobolus founder Jonathan Wolken, a stint at Amsterdam's School for New Dance Development, and early training from Grace Butler, a former Nikolais dancer.
